How to add a live voting bracket to your TikTok LIVE with LIVE Studio
Add BracketTap's tall stream view to TikTok LIVE Studio as a Link source in a portrait scene, and let your TikTok viewers vote on a bracket from their phones.
Going live on TikTok from your computer? TikTok LIVE Studio, TikTok's own streaming app for Windows and Mac, can show a web page right in your scene. Point it at your BracketTap room, and the matchups sit on your TikTok LIVE while viewers vote on their own phones.
In LIVE Studio, a web page is called a Link source (there's no "Browser Source" like in OBS). This guide adds BracketTap's tall stream view as a Link source in a portrait scene, which fills a phone screen from top to bottom. The steps follow TikTok's LIVE Studio Help Center as of October 2026.

What you need
- TikTok LIVE Studio, free from tiktok.com/studio/download, on Windows or Mac
- LIVE access on your TikTok account (see below)
- A BracketTap room, open on your phone or a second screen as the host
Who can use LIVE Studio? You need LIVE access to go live from it. TikTok says gaming creators get access at 1,000 followers and other creators at 10,000, and the exact requirements vary by country or region and change from time to time. Log in to LIVE Studio and check Your LIVE access in the top right corner: it shows whether you qualify and what's missing. If you stream regularly on another platform, you can apply with your channel there instead.
Step 1: Pick a tall layout and copy the stream view link
- Go to Create a bracket, add your choices, and tap Play with friends 📱. The screen you're on becomes the Host screen.
- On the host screen, open 📺 Party TV or streaming? Put it on the big screen (or the 📺 TV / Stream button once the game has started).
- Under Layout, pick Tall · QR top. TikTok's comments and buttons sit over the bottom and right side of a vertical LIVE, so this keeps the QR code and room code out of their way.
- Under Background, pick Transparent to put the bracket over your camera, or Dark or Light for a solid background.
- Untick Sound effects on stream. Your link then ends in
sound=0, and the stream view never shows its 🔇 Click to turn on sound button, so nothing extra ends up on your LIVE. - Leave Show the join QR code and room code so viewers can vote ticked, and tap Copy link. Your link looks like
https://brackettap.com/stream/ABC234?bg=transparent&layout=top&sound=0.
The first guide walks through the other settings in this panel.
Step 2: Set up a portrait scene
LIVE Studio has three scene layouts: Portrait (for phone viewers watching upright), Landscape (16:9, for widescreen content like PC games) and Dual layout (both at once).
- In the Scenes section, pick Portrait and click Add scene, then choose a template and click Add.
- Already have a scene you like? Right-click it, choose Switch layout, and pick Portrait.
The tall stream view is built for a 9:16 portrait scene, so the text and QR code come out big and easy to read.
Step 3: Add the bracket as a Link source
- With your portrait scene selected, click Add source and choose Link.
- Paste your stream view link into the URL field, give the source a name like "BracketTap", and confirm. If LIVE Studio asks for a width and height, use
1080and1920. - Drag the corners in the scene to make the bracket fill the scene from top to bottom. The stream view scales itself to whatever size you give it.
- Adding your camera too? Make sure the BracketTap source sits above the camera in the source list, so the bracket draws on top and your camera shows through behind it.
Tip: Picked Transparent but see a solid box behind the bracket? Try Dark or Light instead, and place your camera above or beside the bracket rather than behind it.
Tip: Click the mobile preview button above the scene preview to see your LIVE the way phone viewers will. Make sure the QR code and room code aren't hidden behind TikTok's comments or buttons.
Step 4: Go live and run the game
- Click Go LIVE in LIVE Studio, and fill in your LIVE title and topic. LIVE Studio logs in to TikTok for you, so there's no stream key to copy.
- On the host screen, tap Start the bracket ▶ when your viewers are in, then Reveal now and Next matchup ▶ for each matchup.
- The bracket on your LIVE follows along by itself.
Want the room to run on its own while you talk to chat? Turn on 🔁 Continuous mode on the host screen. Each result shows for a few seconds, then the next matchup opens with a 30-second vote timer.
If the Link source won't load: use Window Capture
If the bracket stays blank in a Link source, you can show it from a normal browser window instead:
- On your computer, open your stream view link in a separate browser window (not just a tab). Pick a Dark or Light background for this, since a browser window can't be see-through.
- Make the window tall and narrow, close to a 9:16 shape, so the tall layout fills it.
- In LIVE Studio, click Add source, choose Window capture, and pick that browser window.
- Crop or resize the source so only the bracket shows.
This works, but it has trade-offs:
- No transparency. Your camera can't show through behind the bracket.
- The window has to stay open. If you close or minimize it, the bracket disappears from your LIVE.
- Browser bars can sneak in. You may need to crop off the address bar and tabs, and pop-ups or notifications in that window show up on stream.
A Link source avoids all of that, so try it first.
Tips for TikTok brackets
- Say the room code out loud. Most TikTok viewers are watching on their phone, and you can't scan a QR code on the screen you're holding. Every so often, tell viewers to go to brackettap.com/join and type the room code. Put the code in your LIVE title too. The QR code still works for anyone watching on a computer or TV.
- Keep the QR code big enough to scan. Leave the bracket at full size. If you need room for your face, put the camera behind the bracket (with Transparent) rather than shrinking the bracket.
- Turn off Screen saver for streams. It's there for TVs left on for hours: about every 10 minutes it moves the QR panel to the other end of the screen. Untick Screen saver on the host screen before you copy your link.
- Run the host screen on your phone. Your computer is busy with LIVE Studio, so a phone or tablet next to you is the easiest place to tap Reveal now and Next matchup ▶.
FAQ
Does TikTok LIVE Studio have a Browser Source?
Not by that name. LIVE Studio calls it a Link source, and TikTok describes it as a way to add a webpage preview to your LIVE. It does the same job here: it shows your live stream view in the scene.
Should I use Portrait, Landscape or Dual layout?
Portrait, with the Tall · QR top layout, is the best fit for TikTok, since most viewers watch upright on a phone. In a Dual layout scene, sources you add to the portrait layout also show in the landscape layout, with the same settings, so the tall bracket shows there as well. You can resize it in the landscape layout, but you can't swap in a wide link just for landscape.
Can I also stream wide on Twitch or YouTube at the same time?
Not from LIVE Studio, which streams to TikTok. To go live wide and vertical at once from one room, use Streamlabs Desktop's Dual Output or OBS with the Aitum Vertical plugin. See How to stream your bracket vertically on TikTok and YouTube Shorts with OBS.
Does the stream view count as a player?
No. It only watches the room. Only phones that join with the QR code or room code count as players.
Do my viewers need an account or an app?
No. They scan the QR code or type the room code at brackettap.com/join and vote in their phone's browser.
